TASTY TUESDAY!

Extraordinary Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/2 cups butter ( 3 sticks)
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla
2 eggs
4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
4 cups (24 oz) semi sweet chocolate chips

*chopped walnuts are optional but they make the cookies so delicious!*

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, beat butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs on medium speed or with spoon until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt ( dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips

On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by tablespoons full about 2 inches apart. Slightly flatten.

Bake 11-13 minutes or until light brown ( centers will be soft )

Cool 1-2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack or foil. Makes between 4-6 dozen depending on the size of cookies

These cookies are seriously my favorite chocolate chip cookies. I have had many requests to make them from Kevin, my dad and even a cousin who used the recipe for a bake sale back in Illinois.  I just happened upon the recipe one day on the back of the flour bag and made them.  Kevin came home and said "Kristen, these are the best cookies you have ever made!"...and so the story begins.  They are the only cookies I make now.  They are delicious!!!!  You won't be able to just eat one.

I have decided that every Tuesday on my blog is going to be Tasty Tuesday.  Each Tuesday, I will post a recipe that we make here at home.  It will range from breakfast to dinner to dessert and anything in between.  I hope you all enjoy!!  Feel free to join in the fun and post your own Tasty Tuesday recipes!!
