Weightloss update

I recently reached another milestone.  40lbs lost!  It took a while to get back in the groove after Kevin left, but I slowly but surely am getting there.  Lately I have the craving to eat all the time! (No, not pregnant) ..maybe pmsing? I just want to eat, eat, eat! grrr.  Oh well. I've been trying to work out at least 5 days a week.  I have started to take the girls to the gym with me in the morning.  That itself is another story.  My new form of cardio is a spin class.  It's so hard but such an awesome workout.  I feel so amazing when I am done.  My butt, however, does not.  I haven't quite built up my butt callous yet.  We'll get there!
Here are some pics along the way of my progess.  Next goal 50lbs lost by July 4th!!!

Kaelin is 8 months

I know I say this every month, but I really can't believe that Kaelin is 8 months old already!  Just 4 short months until she is one year old. No way!  :)
Kaelin is starting to get a personality of her own and it is so fun.  For the longest time she was very whiney and clingy.  It made my days extremely stressful and hard.  I never wanted to take her anywhere or leave her with anyone else because of this.
Oh, and did I mention that she spit up ALL the time.  Well folks, after several trips to the doctor for the same things.  I finally took it into my own  hands and switched Kaelin to soy formula.  She is a completely different little girl.  Absolutely not one drop of spit up.  Her bottles are spread out now to about every 4 hours.  Up until about 2 weeks ago, she would have a bottle about ever 1-2 hours and 75% of the time, half or all of the bottle would come up.  Because she was eating more frequently, she never actually lost any weight, therefore the Dr. saw no concern with her spitting up.  Well after rashes, spitting up, gas, crying.  I am happy to report that soy milk has done the trick and helped my baby girl feel better.

Kaelin now crawls EVERYWHERE!  She now just plays and crawls to whatever she wants.  She is just so much fun.  She and Lauren are starting to play together really well too.  I just love to hear them giggle and play and "talk" together.

Friday, Kaelin took her first big girl bath.  She didn't even need the help of her bath seat.  She just loved splashing and wiggling around on her own.  I may still use the bath seat when she takes baths with Lauren for a while.  They both get so excited and Kaelin fell over backwards last night.  She didn't even cry.  She was just surprised by what was happening.  Of course I was right there to scoop her up immediately.

This is a picture of Kaelin when the show "Super Why" comes on PBS.  She LOVES the super readers.  I use it as a "babysitter" for Kaelin and Lauren, so this mommy can take a shower and get ready in the morning.  :)
Kaelin just continues to grow and grow and amaze us each day.  We love her so much

Weight loss update

Ok..so I was supposed to lose 40lbs before I got this baby, but my husband loves me and said I had done a great job already and got it for me anyway.  Plus it was on sale for $100 off and no shipping via Amazon.com.  I got it just a few days before Kevin's R&R.  I was so excited and thankful to have it to document our time together.
As it stood when Kevin got home I was at 211.8.  I gained some during our time together, but that is understood considering we ate out A LOT, and when we weren't eating out, we were eating very very well :)   We had such an amazing time together.
The day after he left I weighed 215.8 so a 4lb weight gain. When I weighed yesterday after one week I was back down to 212lbs.
I am going to keep it up. 12lbs til my 50lb goal! That doesn't mean that will be the end of it though, but we will talk more about that later.

Oh and take a look at my HANDSOME husband who has lost over 40lbs since November too!

Ok..really this time we are back...

Things this week have been INSANE.  As I mentioned in the previous post, the girls are both sick and on meds.  Lauren seems to be getting better, but Kaelin is still not feeling the greatest.  She wasn't able to keep her meds down the first 3 out of 5 days of her meds. I called the doctor on Monday morning to inquire if he would like to put her on the antibiotic for a little while longer. He said he didn't want to put her on anything else without seeing her again. GRRRR.  The doctor is over an hour away and I can't just on a dime leave to go to the doctor.  I am thankful that my sister Stephanie was available both days to help me out! She didn't even hesitate and she was there to help.  Thank you so much Stephanie!!  The verdict after that appointment was that Lauren's other ear was now infected and the bronchitis had no change and was not improving so he decided to up her steroid dosage and put her on a 10 day course of antibiotics AND nebulizer treatments 3xday.

Isn't that "Dino Mask" the cutest?!  I think it is.  Kaelin, however, HATES it!  The nurse said it was okay to detach the mask and just let the albuterol vapors just blow in her face and let her inhale.  That seems to work a little better but I end up inhaling a lot and getting jittery too.  The nurse also said it's okay to let her scream while she is doing the treatments because we know then that she is breathing the medicine in.  So we do a little bit of the mask and a little bit of me just holding it in front of her.  She seems to be doing a lot better. Still very congested and has a cough, but much better than she was on Sunday night/Monday morning.  Praying this will all clear very very soon.
